Eloquent Systems Improves Security for its SaaS Hosting Environment - Cites Growing Demand for Secure Access to Sensitive Archives and Corporate Recor

Vancouver, BC (PRWEB) November 12, 2007 -- Citing increasing demand for secure storage and retrieval of sensitive archives and corporate records, Eloquent Systems has recently completed upgrades to its secure hosting environment. A software vendor for the heritage industry (specialized libraries, archives and museums), as well as the public sector and Global 2000 corporate records markets, Eloquent provides both an enterprise version of its software and an increasingly popular hosted solution.

Recent enhancements made by Eloquent include upgrading to a new 256-bit SSL Web server encryption certificate from Thawte, a leading certificate authority. This new certificate provides the highest level of encryption available by law.

These new improvements enable confidential public searching and access to the various records and collections of specialized libraries, archives, museums and corporations within the Eloquent hosted environment. Eloquent's search and retrieval interfaces include:

* PublicSearch? - a self-service module that enables external researchers to search the collection through a Web interface; and

* VisualSearch?, a geospatial search interface that capitalizes on the growth of mapping and location-based tools such as Google Maps to allow researchers, historians and archivists to analyze information within a geographical context.

"These changes to our site security complement the work that we have done over the past several years to provide detailed role provisioning and access controls," stated Merv Richter, President of Eloquent Systems. "Security and access are very important concerns for our customers. The Internet can provide more convenient access to our clients' records and collections, and with increased online security, more organizations are becoming comfortable with hosting their collections externally through services like ours."
